“Liz Mahler, executive director of the Brooklyn based orchestral ‘collective’ The Knights, is to join Carnegie Hall on March 1 as artistic administrator,” writes Susan Elliott on Wednesday  (2/3) on MusicalAmerica.com. “She will succeed Kathy Schuman, who has left after 14 years to become new VP and artistic director of G. Schirmer, Inc./Associated Music Publishers/Music Sales Corporation. Mahler will report to Jeremy Geffen, director of artistic planning…Prior to the Knights, Mahler worked as director of special projects at Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.” A 2009 alumna of the League of American Orchestras’ Orchestra Management Fellowship Program, Mahler “holds a B.A. in American History and Literature from Harvard University and a master’s degree in violin performance from the Peabody Institute. She is a former violin fellow in the New World Symphony.”
