Chamber Music America has designated the month of May as National Chamber Music Month, to be celebrated with nationwide concerts organized by 22 CMA-member ensembles. These ensembles have issued an invitation to arts organizations in every state to participate, with events to be tracked by the CMA national office, which will provide publicity assistance.  The goal is to raise public awareness of the chamber music field nationally and help ensembles and presenters attract audiences and media attention in their communities. “Chamber music is a vibrant and diverse field,” said Margaret M. Lioi, CEO of Chamber Music America.  “It includes contemporary music, jazz, world music, European classical music and styles that draw from all of these.” Among the performances already charted for May are the Escher String Quartet at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, Minnesota and Symphony Space’s Wall to Wall: Gertrude’s Paris in New York City.
