“The Savannah Philharmonic announced today that Mitchell Krieger has been named executive director of the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, taking the reins from interim Executive Director and Board member Samir Nicocevic,” writes Jim Morekis on Thursday (8/11) at ConnectSavannah (Savannah, GA). “Krieger will join the Philharmonic on Aug. 15, from the Victoria Symphony in British Columbia, Canada…. The Philharmonic says, ‘Krieger’s accomplishments in Victoria, British Columbia, include taking the symphony to the next level by leading the creation of a strong strategic plan and mission statement development. He achieved surpluses in every year of his tenure, increasing development revenue and growing individual giving from $150,000 in 2009 to over $1 million in 2014-15.’ … Krieger earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts.” Says Krieger, “The Savannah Philharmonic has achieved so much in just a few years, and the large following and undeniable support these talented musicians enjoy is amazing.”
