Musical America has announced the winners of its 2024 Musical America Awards. Publisher Stephanie Challener made the announcement on Friday, October 13. The awards recognize classical music artists and leaders who made outstanding contributions to the performing arts and have been given for 63 years. Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen has been named 2024 Artist of the Year; Kevin Puts is Composer of the Year; Sir Antonio Pappano is Conductor of the Year; clarinet player Anthony McGill is Instrumentalist of the Year; and the Philadelphia-based vocal group The Crossing is Ensemble of the Year.
