Friday’s (9/3) Daily News Journal (Rutherford, Tennessee) reports, “About 40 Rutherford County business and community leaders gathered at the Rutherford Chamber of Commerce building Wednesday for the inaugural Rutherford County meeting of the Nashville Symphony Council, a new organization of Middle Tennessee leaders serving as ambassadors for Nashville’s symphony orchestra. The Nashville Symphony Council grew out of the Nashville Advisory Council, a group of more than 400 community leaders established in 2000 to help build broad support for the Nashville Symphony during the construction of Schermerhorn Symphony Center. … The Nashville Symphony Council exists to provide a forum for leaders throughout Middle Tennessee to stay abreast of developments at the Nashville Symphony. Through this ‘inside track,’ NSC members will be informed of symphony activities that can advance the economic, educational and cultural interests of their communities. NSC members will also serve as representatives for the Nashville Symphony, becoming the go-to people in their communities for information about the Symphony’s plans and accomplishments.”
