The New Hampshire Music Festival has received a $20,000 grant supporting two initiatives: a free series of outdoor concerts in July and August, and a free family concert and day of music in downtown Plymouth on July 23. The grant, from Lincoln Financial Foundation, will support the festival’s Music in the Mountains series held on mountaintops, trails, and lakes; and a variety of education initiatives including a family concert and a free day of music in Plymouth that includes an instrument petting zoo, food from local stores, and more than 75 performers. A separate $5,000 grant from Cogswell Benevolent Trust will enable 200 people under 25 to attend NHMF concerts for free. The festival, founded in 1952 as a small chamber orchestra, performs each summer in July and August at the Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University.
