The Bravo! Vail music festival and the New York Philharmonic have announced a five-year extension of the orchestra’s annual residency through the summer of 2022. The New York Philharmonic has performed 90 orchestral concerts at Bravo! Vail since its first season there, in 2003. The Philharmonic recently concluded its 15th annual summer residency at Bravo! Vail, celebrating the festival’s 30th season. The residency included six orchestral concerts, with repertoire ranging from Broadway music by Bernstein and Gershwin to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Mahler’s Seventh Symphony. The other orchestras with residencies at Vail! are the Orchestra of St. Martin in the Fields, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Dallas Symphony. Jennifer Teisinger is Bravo! Vail’s executive director, and Anne-Marie McDermott is artistic director.
