Palm writes, “The Orlando Philharmonic is mixing its music with the creative technology of Full Sail University at a gala this Saturday, April 21. At the gala, Dirk Meyer will conduct a performance of the full Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanied by animation, photography, lighting effects and a virtual opera set created by students and faculty of Full Sail. Called ‘Symphony in HD,’ this is the first event of its kind presented by Full Sail University or the Orlando Philharmonic ‘We are incredibly lucky to collaborate with the phenomenally creative team of faculty and staff at Full Sail University,’ says Orlando Philharmonic executive director David Schillhammer. ‘Developing the program has stretched the creative talents of both organizations, and the result is going to be an intersection of music and technology unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.’ Indeed, this is the first time Full Sail University’s state-of-the-art live venue has hosted an orchestra, much less a full symphony concert with all those high-tech bells and whistles accompanying the music. … The gala, a fundraiser that benefits the orchestra, will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 21.”
