The deadline is February 1 for international students to apply for the fall 2015 semester of the Shanghai Orchestra Academy, founded by the New York Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. The SOA is designed to address the need for advanced, post-graduate orchestral training, and provides opportunities to study with musicians from the New York Philharmonic and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra who serve on the faculty, as well as to apprentice in world-renowned orchestras, receiving MFA degrees after completing a two-year full-time course.
