“It opens with an image of a sunset, shot near Garlic Brothers Restaurant, with a lone fisherman in a boat silhouetted against the setting sun,” writes Lori Gilbert in Wednesday’s (9/19) Record (Stockton, CA). “For 12 minutes and 47 seconds, images of Stockton flash and an original composition by … John Wineglass completes the ‘Sights and Sounds of Stockton.’ The multimedia production—a collaboration of San Joaquin Delta College photography and video students, the Stockton Symphony and Wineglass—premieres at 6 p.m. Saturday…. The images are seen through the eyes of Delta Professor Kirstyn Russell’s photography and Adriana Brogger’s multimedia students, including Jordan Kost, who edited the piece…. Photography student Dawn LeAnn Basnett “had private tours of the Bob Hope Theatre, the Port of Stockton—’I had no idea of the rich history there,’ said the 20-year resident—and Stockton Ballpark. It was her photograph of the fisherman that opens the video that sparked Wineglass’ composition.” Stockton Symphony Music Director Peter Jaffe says the multimedia project “hooks into our mission, which is to inspire joy and build community through music. There are moments I’m just proud of the great things and culture Stockton has to offer.”
