Symphony NH, based in Nashua, New Hampshire, has received an anonymous $10,000 gift to go toward the orchestra’s education endowment fund. Symphony NH has ongoing programs with the Nashua School District, working with teachers to create programs for students, including an annual free orchestra concert for the district’s third-graders. The orchestra has performed similar programs in the Manchester, Concord, Bow, and Upper Valley school districts in addition to bringing orchestra musicians to schools to work directly with students. Symphony NH’s mission statement notes that music education and community programming is “at the core of their pursuit,” and Executive Director Marc Thayer said Symphony NH plans “to expand our work with the schools in order to support arts education in our region.”
