Effective this month, every issue of Symphony is available online, free of charge, to anyone with internet access. The change means the award-winning Symphony—the magazine about orchestras and the vital work they do—can now be read by everyone who loves orchestras and classical music. SymphonyOnline still has all the same in-depth reports, provocative essays, and cutting-edge research, plus additional content not found in the print issue. New features of SymphonyOnline will include live links, audio and video, and the ability to forward your favorite article to friends and arts colleagues. Among the online-only content in the January-February issue of SymphonyOnline is an exclusive report from the Abreu Fellows on the frontlines of bringing Venezuela’s El Sistema education model to the U.S.; an excerpt from Roger Nierenberg’s book Maestro; and links to audience-demographic research by the League of American Orchestras.
