In Tuesday’s (11/2) Statesman Journal (Salem, Oregon), Barbara Curtin writes, “The Willamette Valley Symphony will give its ‘Winter Reveries’ concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 in the sanctuary of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem, 5090 Center St. NE. A second performance will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 in the Ashbrook Independent School Auditorium, 4045 Research Way, Corvallis. The Corvallis-based group is directed by Sean Paul Mills. The program will feature a new composition, ‘Nightscape,’ by John David Lamb of Seattle. It’s one of four world premieres the symphony will present this season. Also on the program are Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Concerto for Oboe and Strings in A minor with the symphony’s principal oboist, Jaclyn LaRue; and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1 in G minor, ‘Winter Reveries.’ ”
