The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra will broadcast two live concerts from Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wisconsin. The concerts, on August 25 and September 1, will be performed live at Breese Stevens and will air on radio station WORT 89.9 FM, including a pre-concert show; the orchestra will livestream each performance in real time through its website, wcoconcerts.org. Each performance will also be live-streamed at drive-in concerts at the Madison Mallards Duck Pond on the city’s north side; each concert has a 115-car capacity. The orchestra will host a maximum of 25 concertgoers at Breese, but the primary focus is on simulcasting the concert through multiple channels and venues to create a “concert-like” experience in a time when large groups are prohibited. The August 25 concert, featuring the WCO performing with Jeans ‘n Classics, will include music by the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Prince, The Who, and others; on September 1, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and electric violinist Tracy Silverman will perform music by Offenbach, Tchaikovsky, and Sousa, as well as the world premiere of Silverman’s For the Greater Groove and three other Silverman works.
