New York radio station WQXR will stream a live webcast of “American Orchestras: Endangered Species?,” a panel discussion, on May 3 at 7 p.m. ET. Graham Parker, vice president of WQXR, will serve as moderator, with guests Anne Parsons, president and executive director of the Detroit Symphony; Alan Pierson, artistic director of the Brooklyn Philharmonic; Eric Jacobson, co-artistic director of The Knights chamber orchestra; and Tony Woodcock, president of Boston’s New England Conservatory. The panel will be conducted before a live audience at the Jerome L. Greene Space in Manhattan. The program is part of the WNYC series “The NEXT New York Conversation,” which covers a variety of topics in settings such as town hall meetings, performance chats, and debates.
