Young Concert Artists will present a live-streamed performance on October 21 featuring three YCA alumni and five current YCA artists, live from the Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall in New York City. The program includes solo Bach scores plus chamber works by Ravel, Handel, Higdon, and more, as well as the world premiere of Partita for solo violin by YCA composer Chris Rogerson. Featured artists will include violinists SooBeen Lee and Ben Beilman; cellist Jonathan Swensen; double-bassist Xavier Foley; pianists Albert Cano Smit and Ursula Oppens; flutist Susan Rotholz; and saxophonist Steven Banks. The event will be live-streamed on YCA’s Facebook and YouTube pages, and on the Violin Channel’s Facebook page. Additional live-streamed events to be offered this season include a YCA Winners Concert on November 9 and a concert featuring pianist Aristo Sham on December 9. Daniel Kellogg is president of Young Concert Artists, founded in 1961 by Susan Wadsworth; the organization has presented nearly 300 artist debut concerts, commissioned more than 30 compositions from YCA composers, and facilitated residencies through the Annaliese Soros Educational Residency Program.
