Hanson, who resigned as CEO of the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) not long after Esa-Pekka Salonen took over as music director, succeeded Peter Kjome as CEO of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra … Matthew Spivey moved from serving as interim CEO at the SFS to the top executive slot … Spivey first joined SFS in 2015 as director of artistic planning under MTT. Among executive shuffling, the biggest surprise was recent, with Gail Samuels’s exit as CEO of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.… At the Detroit Symphony, Erik Rönmark, who succeeded the late Anne Parsons as CEO about a year ago, began to build his new team, which now includes Charles Buchanan … from the NY Philharmonic, where he had been director of marketing. The Virginia Symphony Orchestra has a new president and CEO in Andrea F. Warren. She succeeded Karen M. Philion, in the job over a decade and was responsible for bringing Eric Jacobsen on board as music director. And the Cleveland Orchestra lost its Chief Artistic Director Mark Williams to the Toronto Symphony, where he now presides as CEO. Williams succeeded Matthew Loden, now dean of Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music in October.”
