Maine’s Portland Symphony Orchestra.

The Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) has hired four members to its administrative staff.

McKenzie Blanchard has been hired as the PSO’s director of learning and community impact. Blanchard earned a BA in Music Education and an MA in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire. Most recently she was the music teacher and choral director at Sunset Heights School, Nashua, New Hampshire.

Lucas Goodman has been hired as music librarian, a position he recently held with the Cape Symphony in Hyannis, MA. Goodman earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance and Master of Music in Viola Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music and a Master’s in Critical and Curatorial Studies at Bard College.

Liz Shapiro has been hired as production manager.  She earned a BFA in Design and Technical Theatre at the Randolph-Macon Women’s College and an MFA in Lighting Design at the University of Connecticut. Shapiro has extensive experience in similar roles with national and international theater touring companies.

Michelle Zichella has been hired as the PSO’s major gifts and corporate officer, a role she held recently with the University of Southern Maine Foundation. She has occupied similar positions with Midcoast Humane, Maine Behavioral Healthcare, and other organizations. She earned a BA in Communications from Russell College.
