The League of American Orchestras has just released a new Catalyst Guide on Audience Diversification that explores how—and why—orchestras can engage more diverse and inclusive audiences. The makeup of attendees at orchestras’ events reveals starkly how orchestras matter to their communities. The diversity of those who attend concerts and events is a key measure—perhaps an ultimate measure—of impact. In this new Catalyst Guide, 15 orchestras share how they are making progress towards engaging younger and more racially diverse audiences. The Guide explores eight key audience diversification strategies, discusses ways to overcome commonly experienced challenges, and includes case studies from orchestras across the country that are successfully taking action.

The Catalyst Fund Incubator, Catalyst Guides, and Catalyst Snapshots are made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation with additional support from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation.
