Aaron Doty.

Aaron Doty has been appointed as president and CEO of the Reno Phil in Nevada, effective mid-January of 2024. He will succeed Ignacio Barrón Viela, who stepped down earlier this year. Doty began his career as a music teacher in Madison, Wisconsin while also performing as a bassist in jazz and orchestral settings. Doty has held roles in arts and entertainment since 2005, starting as the orchestra personnel and operations manager for the Washington National Opera, where he subsequently served as manager of artistic operations; co-interim executive director; operations director; and director of strategy and engagement. In 2019, he became vice president and general manager of the Grand Rapids Symphony in Michigan. Doty earned a Master of Music in Conducting degree from Ohio University in 2005. Laura Jackson is music director and conductor of the Reno Phil.
