Erina Buchholz, newly named concertmaster of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.

Indiana’s Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra has appointed Erina Buchholz as concertmaster, effective September 2023. Buchholz was principal second violin of the Terre Haute Symphony for the 2021-2022 and 2022-20223 seasons, and also serves as assistant concertmaster of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and section violinist with the Owensboro Symphony. She was previously a member of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra. Born and raised in Louisiana, Buchholz is currently pursuing a Performer’s Diploma at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music; she earned a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Indiana University in 2022. Buchholz has performed as a soloist with the Gulf Coast Steinway Society Orchestra (Mobile, AL), the Acadiana Symphony (Lafayette, LA), and the Louisiana Youth Orchestra (Baton Rouge, LA), and participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Madeline Island Chamber Music, Domaine Forget, Orford Music, International Violin Akademie Saar, and the Ferme de Villefavard Summer Music Academy. Buchholz is a dual citizen of Japan and the United States.  She makes her debut as the Terre Haute Symphony’s concertmaster on September 23.
