Lawrence Loh is the newly named music director and conductor of the Waco Symphony Orchestra in Texas.

Lawrence Loh has been named music director and conductor of the Waco Symphony Orchestra in Texas. He succeeds Music Director Emeritus Stephen Heyde, who retired from the WSO in November 2022 after 35 years. Loh is music director of the Syracuse Orchestra (formerly Symphoria) in Syracuse, New York. He has also held conducting positions with the Syracuse Opera, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Pittsburgh Youth Symphony, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and the Colorado Symphony, and has been a frequent guest conductor of orchestras around the world. Loh earned an Artist Diploma in Orchestral Conducting at Yale University, a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting at Indiana University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Rochester.
